Report for The Style Column

As part of a brand new art project called BT ArtBox, designers such as Giles Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, Julien Macdonald and photographer Willie Christie are going to be adding their own unique designs to the iconic red telephone box to mark the 25th anniversary of Childline. The works will displayed in the Knightsbridge Harvey Nichols on Thursday May 24th as a window display. Following this each creation will be placed in a variety of locations throughout London.

Giles Deacon’s techni-coloured design will feature women wearing a number of stylish ensembles and Willi Christie’s is said to include the pout of his ex-wife, Other big names lending their skills to the exhibition include Lily Cole, Philip Treacy, Zaha Hdid and Corrie Nielsen.

An auction will be held on July 18th where a selection of the works will be on offer at the National Portrait Gallery to raise money for Childline while others will be available to buy on eBay. Keep an eye out for these wonderful creations popping up over the summer.
